Cypress Food & Beverage http://www.noodle-time.com/ is an Edmonton-based company that makes “Noodle Time," an instant Ramen noodle soup, and bottles Cypress Spring Water.

The twelve- year-old company prides itself in using only top-quality ingredients in Noodle Time. Not only is the soup cholesterol-free, low in saturated fat and zero trans fat, they use only real vegetables and no preservatives or MSG. The great tasting, made in Canada nutritious soup is sold to major Canadian supermarkets, such as Save-On-Foods, Superstore, Loblaws, Sobeys, and Safeway.

The company also bottles Cypress Spring Water at a natural spring source located within the Columbia Icefields region, which is surrounded by glaciers of the Canadian Rockies. It’s miles away from any farming or industrialized areas, ensuring that the water is among the purest on the planet. It is distributed through retail grocers, food services, gas stations, and convenient store locations.

In July 2009, Cypress Food and Beverage got even bigger when it was acquired by its parent company BioNeutra Inc.

Founded in 2003, BioNeutra uses exclusive patented technology to naturally transform starch molecules from cereal crops into VitaSugar and VitaFiber, low calorie, nutritive sweeteners that are full of dietary fiber. Sugar and gluten-free, VitaSugar and VitaFiber are used in many health food products, such as cereals, baked goods, meal replacements and snack foods.

“It’s great for diabetics and anyone looking for an alternative to sugar,” says Raymond Yong, accounting manager at the company. “We have a lot of American customers who use VitaFiber as an ingredient in their products, such as nutrition bars and drinks.”

When Cypress and BioNeutra merged offices, the number of employees grew to a staff of 32.
